SEO & AI Visibility Initial Findings

A first look at how AlphaGraphics shows up in Google search and in AI answers, how it compares with the closest print and sign franchises, and where its locations appear in their own markets, with a prioritized plan for growth. Everything here comes from publicly available data, without access to AlphaGraphics' own analytics. Treat it as a starting point for a conversation, not a finished diagnosis.

01Executive SummaryInitial findings

What we found.

  1. 1

AlphaGraphics is one of the two biggest brands in its category in Google, and it is growing.

Two outside tools put it at 119,000 to 253,000 visits a month from unpaid Google results, up 28% to 46% over the past year while FASTSIGNS shrank.

  2. 2

The higher estimate leans on pages that do not hold up.

About 68,000 of its visits sit on pages that now return “page not found” or that only rank for searchers near Nashville. The lower estimate never counted most of them.

  3. 3

In the local map results, AlphaGraphics is mostly missing.

Searching from inside 12 markets where it has centers, it appeared in the box of three local businesses for “print shop” in 4, and for “printing services” in none.

  4. 4

This does not look like a reputation problem.

In 20 of the 32 spots it missed, the business shown instead had fewer reviews than AlphaGraphics' own listing in that city.

  5. 5

254 location sites look alike to Google.

142 of 225 business-card pages carry the same description word for word, and the Google listings use 27 different names across 12 cities.

  6. 6

Google's AI answers name AlphaGraphics only when asked about AlphaGraphics.

It was listed as a source in 3 of 6 branded AI answers and in none of the 13 answers to how-much, how-to and who-to-hire questions.

The nearest opportunity needs no new pages. In most of the markets we sampled, AlphaGraphics already has the better-reviewed listing. Fixing how those listings and location pages are set up is the cheapest move on this list.
02Current StateOutside estimate

AlphaGraphics at a glance.

Both outside tools agree AlphaGraphics grew over the past year. They disagree by about two to one on how much traffic it gets. The next sections look at where that difference sits.

On both tools, AlphaGraphics grew while FASTSIGNS shrank. On the higher estimate the two are level; on the lower one AlphaGraphics is about four fifths of FASTSIGNS. Either way it is well ahead of Minuteman Press, Sir Speedy and Allegra.
04What Holds UpChecked live

The higher estimate leans on pages that do not hold up.

We opened the pages carrying the most estimated traffic and ran their main searches live. Some are gone, and the biggest one only ranks near the franchisee who wrote it. One tool counts those pages heavily; the other barely counts them.

05Local SearchInitial finding

Where buyers look first, AlphaGraphics is mostly missing.

Google results for print shop searched from Dallas. The local box shows We Print Dallas, Oak Cliff Print and Minuteman Press Dallas. AlphaGraphics does not appear.
Google, “print shop”, run from a Dallas connection on 27 October 2026. The top business in the box has 33 reviews. AlphaGraphics Dallas, rated 4.9 with 253 reviews, is not in it.

The businesses in the box often have fewer reviews.

07Google ListingsInitial finding

One brand, 27 names.

Google decides which business to show partly by how clearly a listing says what it is and where it sends people. Across 12 cities, AlphaGraphics' listings say it many different ways.

08Location PagesInitial finding

254 location sites look alike to Google.

Every center has its own copy of the same service pages. When the pages say the same thing, Google has no reason to prefer the local one, so it picks one center's page for everyone.

Location pages already rank in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas and Salt Lake City. The same treatment, applied deliberately, is the plan.
13The PlanDraft for discussion

Initial key initiatives.

Three groups of work, in the order we think they pay back. Your own data will re-order them.

1

Stop the leaks

  • Bring back or forward the pages now returning “page not found”
  • Closed centers send visitors to the matching page at the nearest center, not its homepage
  • Recover 1,251 links from other sites that point at dead pages

Measured by: Pages recovered

2

Win the map results

  • One rule for listing names, categories and links, applied network-wide
  • Location pages rewritten to be about their city: reviews, local work, directions
  • Start where AlphaGraphics' reviews already beat the businesses in the box

Measured by: Markets in the box

3

Own the how-much questions

  • National price guides for wraps, cards, signs, banners and mail
  • Sign and wayfinding pages to close the gap with FASTSIGNS
  • Answers written so Google's AI answer can quote them

Measured by: AI answers listing AlphaGraphics

15How We WorkIdeate · Activate · Evaluate · Iterate

An SEO and AEO workflow that works.

Seven phases covering both Google search and the answers AI assistants give, run through the Four8 framework. Each ends in a decision rather than a document. The four highlighted are where AlphaGraphics' findings land hardest, once your own data is connected.

01

Intake

  • Your search, analytics and sales data connected
  • What only your team can tell us
  • Which centers matter most
02

Review

  • Every page on every site gets one decision
  • Keep, improve, forward, merge or remove
  • You sign off before anything moves
03

Technical

  • A fixed checklist run on every page that stays
  • Listings, links and page structure
  • Who is allowed to read the site, including AI
04

Search analysis

  • Every search in the market, grouped by need
  • Which belong to a center, which to the brand
  • A list of pages you approve before writing starts
05

Your pages

  • A brief per page, not a list of terms
  • Written by a person who knows print and signs
  • Rolled out center by center
06

Other sites

  • Whether a placement is worth running
  • The sources AI answers actually read
  • Building the thing worth quoting
07

Measurement

  • Baseline taken the day each fix ships
  • Read again once it lands
  • What we learn re-orders what comes next
Three of these need your sign-off, and nothing moves without it: what gets removed from the site, which pages get written, and whether a draft is right. This runs as a standing operation with a named team, not a list of fixes handed over once.

16 · Next Steps
